CoopeTarrazú is a cooperative of coffee farmers from the Los Santos Coffee Zone located in the canton of Tarrazú that this year celebrates sixty years of experience and tradition in coffee production in Costa Rica, bringing together more than 5,000 associates. They receive cherries from many small farms and consistently process their coffee into a well-balanced regional blend called La Pastora. Each coffee exported by CoopeTarrazú is cultivated at an elevation of 1,200 to 1,900 meters above sea level.
Harvest coincides with the region's dry season, which lasts from November to March, this contributes not only to coffee uniformity but also the ability to process the coffee by sun-drying. Like clockwork, a parade of vehicles of all sizes, from pick-up trucks to dump trucks coming from central receiving stations, arrive in the late afternoon full of cherries that were picked during the day.
