COOCENTRAL

Founded in 1975, Cooperativa Central de Caficultores de Huila (COOCENTRAL) began when a group of smallholder farmers, each working just a few acres, came together to create new opportunities for their families and communities. Today, the cooperative has grown to more than 4,000 members and continues to strengthen livelihoods through education, training, healthcare access, and support programs that improve both farming practices and quality of life.
Spanning the fertile slopes of the Andes in Southern Colombia, these small farms sit at altitudes between 1,100 and 1,850 meters above sea level—an ideal environment for cultivating exceptional coffee. Most farmers process their harvests on their own mills, carefully de-pulping, fermenting, and drying each batch. The result is a beautifully sweet and balanced coffee, primarily from Caturra, Typica, and Castillo varieties, with tasting notes of chocolate, raspberries, caramel, golden raisin, and a creamy, smooth body.
